Our research group is focused on studying the role of autophagy as a key mediator of various nutritional interventions, such as the Mediterranean diet, fasting, and the ketogenic diet, in enhancing the efficacy of cancer treatments. By understanding how these dietary strategies influence autophagy, we aim to identify mechanisms that can be leveraged to improve the responsiveness of cancer cells to therapy, reduce side effects, and ultimately increase the overall success rate of oncological treatments.
