Our primary research area is Plant Virology. The group´s current interests focus on: (i) the analysis of plant–virus interactions; (ii) the study of plant antiviral responses, particularly RNA silencing, and the corresponding viral countermeasures; (iii) the examination of the role of autophagy in the interplay between plant viruses and their hosts.; (iv) the design of virus-based biotechnological tools; and (v) the advancement of sustainable and environmentally friendly strategies to control plant viral infections.
