Our laboratory is interested in the relationships between autophagy and mitochondrial dynamics and its role in metabolic diseases. We also seek to identify new therapies that target autophagy for human metabolic diseases. A global goal of his group is to identify and validate molecular targets that permit the prevention or treatment of metabolic diseases by using cell-based systems, genetically modified mice, and translational approaches.
