My research focuses on understanding how Gain-of-function mutant p53 proteins control autophagy-related pathways and how this influences cancer progression and therapy resistance.
I am going to develop bioinformatic tools to identify and target ‘hotspot’ gain-of-function mutations in p53 proteins with novel compounds. Also, I have keen interest to understand how the presence of mutant p53 affects the sensitivity to cannabinoids-based therapies.
Another research line is addressed to investigate the efficacy of the novel nanomaterials for drug delivery as anticancer therapy. I am interested in the design of stimuli-responsive nanoparticles and evaluate their effect on autophagy-mechanisms and beyond.
