Our goal is to study the role of autophagy in the different cell types of the nervous system in normal and pathological conditions and during ageing. As part of the Experimental Neurology group at the Ramón y Cajal Health Resarch Institute of the Ramón y Cajal Hospital we try to understand the implications for pathology of different protein degradation pathways and metabolic alterations in cellular and animal models and of course in patients with neurodegenerative diseases.
