Our research focuses on autophagy and lysosome biology in cancer. We aim to characterize the role of autophagy and lysosome-dependent degradation specifically during mitotic progression, with the objective to better understand the mechanisms beneath chromosomal instability. We recently identified a novel biomarker for chromosomal instability: the toroidal nucleus. Being located at IDIBELL, our findings can be easily translated into the clinic for cancer therapy.
